One of the research direction within Department of Biotechnology at NTNU is food quality assessment.

The department of biotechnology, NTNU performS the characterization of the waste streams using chemical and biochemical methods (content and properties of proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, minerals etc.) (WP1). NTNU will also apply high resolution NMR spectroscopy and MALDI TOF TOF mass-spectrometry to identify the content of possible bioactive compounds in analyzed wastewater samples (WP3). NTNU will also contribute to dissemination activities (WP7).
